Students from Takini School in Howes, South Dakota, experienced a powerful day of learning and remembrance during the 150th Anniversary Commemoration of the Battle of the Little Bighorn. The Takini Skyhawks visited the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument.

Throughout the day, students witnessed the solemn commemoration horse ride and charging presentation, joining thousands of tribal members participating in the Parade of Nations and cultural events. The experience offered students a meaningful connection to history, identity, and the enduring strength of the Lakota. Takini School celebrated its students for honoring this legacy with respect, pride, and reflection.
